The Truth About Pakistan’s Slavery
Millions of people around the world are trapped in modern slavery. One of the most hidden forms of slavery exists inside the brick kilns of Pakistan through a system called bonded debt labor. Families take small loans for survival — sometimes as little as a few hundred dollars. But the debt grows, the wages remain low, and the families become trapped. In many cases, children inherit the debt and grow up working in slavery alongside their parents. Inside these brick kilns, entire families spend long days making thousands of bricks by hand in extreme heat and dangerous conditions. Many children never go to school. Many families believe freedom is impossible. But there is hope. Organizations like ours, The One Rescues, work with local partners to help free families from bonded labor and give them a chance to rebuild their lives. In this video we discuss: • What bonded debt slavery is • Why families cannot escape brick kilns • The impact on children and families • How freedom can change generations Unfortunately slavery still exists today, but together we can end it. #moderndayslavery #humantraffickingawareness #debtbondage #childlabor
