Drawing Basics: Learn 2D Shapes | Wacom Creative Fundamentals

Welcome everybody to the first part of Creative Fundamentals, a tutorial series I'm creating together with Wacom (paid partnership). Creative Fundamentals is a year-long drawing series created by Wacom and artist Mitch Leeuwe to help you build strong artistic skills from the ground up. Through weekly beginner-friendly lessons, guided exercises, and hands-on practice, you'll learn the core fundamentals of drawing, from characters and perspective to environments and design, while drawing directly on MovinkPad and MovinkPad Pro. In this first lesson we're going to focus on one of the most important fundamentals: drawing simple forms and understanding how to build objects from basic shapes. For these tutorials I'm using the Wacom MovinkPad. What I really like about it is how straightforward it is to start drawing. The screen has a matte surface that feels very natural, almost like drawing on paper, and the pen responds in a way that feels very familiar if you're used to traditional sketching. We'll be working in Wacom Canvas, which keeps things simple so we can focus on what really matters: learning to draw. 00:00 intro 3:23 1-1 draw dog's head 12:59 1-2 draw girls head 20:34 1-3 draw a submarine 28:52 1-4 draw a shark 33:59 outro
