"The Mayflower Story" (1957) - Original Plymouth Plantation Film

In 1957, sailing in a faithful replica of the original "Mayflower, " a hardy crew of adventurers relived the 17th century crossing to bring Americans to permanent historic shrine at Plymouth. Presented by the Aero Mayflower Transit Company of Indianapolis, Indiana. More than 400 years ago the Mayflower sailed from Plymouth, England with just 102 passengers and crew on board with what William Bradford, an English Separatist who became the American Plymouth Colony Governor, called “a prosperous wind.” The original Mayflower was a three-masted ship, most likely between 90 and 110 feet long that transported mostly English Puritans and Separatists (Pilgrims) to the New World. On November 19th 1620, they sighted land, which is the present-day Cape Cod. After several days of trying to sail south to their planned destination of the Colony of Virginia, strong winter seas forced them to return to the harbor at Cape Cod hook.
