The new PING putter collection is here and we got our hands on the new PING Anser 2D that has seen some great success on the PGA and DP World tours. This year, Tony Finau and Ryan Fox have had fantastic wins and brilliant performances, so we were intrigued to see just how good it was. We put it to the test alongside the superb new face balanced Mundy design which is another one of the options from the ten options that Ping have to offer in this all-new collection. Made popular by multiple-time winner Tony Finau, the PING Anser 2D features a PEBAX insert with shallow milled surround ensures a softer feel and consistent ball speed with pleasing acoustics. Tungsten toe-heel weights provide stability and forgiveness, a single white alignment line contrasts with the matte black head, and a ball-width cavity floor help frame the ball to make aligning to the target easier. The Mundy offers more forgiveness by joining a lighter aluminium body to a 304 stainless steel sole plate for positioning the center of gravity low/back. It to features a PEBAX insert with a smooth milled surround delivers a softer feel and consistent ball speed with pleasing acoustics. The three full- length, ball-width alignment lines draw the eye to the point of contact with the ball, simplifying aiming. But just how good are they?
