President Donald Trump threatened new military action against Iran on Thursday, declaring that the United States would hit the country "VERY HARD TONIGHT" and suggesting Washington could seize control of key Iranian oil facilities, including Kharg Island, as U.S. forces carried out a second straight day of strikes against Iranian targets. In a social media post, Trump claimed Iran's military capabilities were largely destroyed and said the U.S. would eventually take control of Kharg Island and other energy infrastructure.
