Importance of balance between urban growth and rural development by Nonkululeko Radebe (KIT)

The talk discusses the challenges to develop technologies that serve to the needs of the urban polulation, and how agricultural wastes can contribute to livelihoods. The one-day conference “Materials and value chains for sustainable, inclusive, and resilient urbanisation in Africa” gathered high-level international experts from materials, architecture and sciences to discuss sustainable materials solutions, urban concepts and challenges, as well as circular concepts, all discussed along with the respective global implications.
