Das Schlesierlied (Kehr ich einst zur Heimat wieder) | Schlesisches Liedgut
Subtitles available! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ The Song of Silesia (Once I return to my Homeland) is an old folk and soldier song about which not much is known. The song text was transmitted in handwriting in the second half of the 19th century, with the author remaining anonymous. The song is often confused with "My Silesian Land" by Johannes Reinelt and Paul Mittmann. There are some variations with additional stanzas: In the shadow of an oak tree, yes, there I gave her the farewell kiss. Sweetheart, I cannot stay with you, because, yes because I have to part from you. If I should ever die, someday in a foreign land, sweetheart, then I want to be buried there, where once in our young years, both of us were so completely alone. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Artists: Music Corps and Soldier Choir of the 11th Panzer-Grenadier Division under the leadership of Major Hans Friess ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ In the thumbnail, the Kynsburg an der Weistritz can be seen, which was built in the 13th century by Duke Bolko I. to secure the Bohemian border. Throughout its history, it has changed hands frequently and suffered numerous damages. Since 1904, the castle has been used as a museum, although in 1945 after its transfer to Poland, a large part of the original exhibits and furniture was destroyed. Additionally, the castle ruins were renamed to "Zamek Grodno". ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 00:00-00:05 – Intro with map of the German Empire and coat of arms of Silesia 00:05-00:18 – Giant Mountains (exact location unknown) 00:18-00:24 – View over Krummhübel 00:24-00:38 – Wedding at Krummhübel 00:38-00:46 – Schloss Fürstenstein (near Waldenburg) 00:46-00:54 – Reifträger (Western Giant Mountains) 00:54-01:02 – Giant Mountains (viewed from the Schneekoppe) 01:02-01:09 – View over Breslau and the Oder 01:09-01:16 – Breslau (Elisabeth Church) 01:16-01:38 – Breslau (Town Hall) 01:38-01:41 – Breslau (Centennial Hall) 01:41-01:45 – Breslau (Greifenhaus and Memorial of Friedrich II.) 01:45-01:47 – Breslau (Neumarkt with Neptune Fountain) 01:47-01:50 – Breslau (Cathedral) 01:50-01:55 – Zackelfall (Giant Mountains) 01:55-02:03 – Giant Mountains (exact location unknown) 02:03-02:15 – Upper Silesian Wedding (exact location unknown) 02:15-02:30 – Near Börbersdorf 02:30-02:34 – Schreiberhau 02:34-02:38 – Kynast Castle 02:38-02:47 – Victory Column in Leuthen 02:47-02:55 – Oder in Breslau (Cathedral in the background) ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/heimatlosyt/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/heimatlosYT TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@heimatlosyt Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/heimatlosyt Twitter: https://twitter.com/heimatlosYT ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #schlesien #niederschlesien #oberschlesien #kaiserreich #breslau #wrocław #krummhübel #karpacz #schreiberhau #szklarskaporęba #leuthen #lutynia #kynast #chojnik #riesengebirge #karkonosze #krkonoše #oder #wald #berge #wandern #burgen #hochzeit #tanz #landwirtschaft #geschichte #musik #heimat #heimatliebe ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ The copyright holders of these recordings are unknown to me. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ The channel "heimatlos" primarily follows the goal of promoting public interest in the history and culture of the Germans in Eastern Europe through education and research.
