NEW HORIZONS IN BONSAI-VOL 1
Growing Bonsai from garden plants. Presented by Brian Bachelder in 1992. First of 3 volumes. I personally have used these methods to create hundreds of miniature plants. The method employs preparing ordinary garden plants or plants, trees, bushes that are native to your area. Various bonsai containers, dishes and clay pots are used. The basic soil employed is long-haired coarse sphagnum moss. All soil is removed from original plant, then trimmed, fitted and re-soiled moss. Quick growth is then achieved by fertilization, watering and trimming. Note: Use waterproof gloves when handling sphagnum moss. It contains live bacteria and nutrients essential for this rapid growth method.
