The Legislative Assembly of Rio Grande do Sul approved the creation of a Special Commission to investigate problems in water supply and sanitation after the privatization of Corsan. Proposed by Deputy Stela Farias (PT), the initiative seeks to investigate service failures in several municipalities, given the increase in complaints about water shortages, supply quality, tariffs and the execution of works. On Gaúcha Atualidade this Monday (11), the Director of Institutional Relations of Corsan/Aegea, Cezar Faccioli, stated that the commission is an opportunity to present data on investments and improvements, such as the expansion of sewage coverage and ongoing works. The company denies a worsening of services, emphasizes that it follows the rules of regulatory agencies and points to structural challenges in the state, defending that the measures adopted aim to meet the goals of the new legal framework for sanitation.
