Both have exactly the same exterior dimensions. Both are built by the same manufacturer, Erwin Hymer; are similarly priced and come with outstanding 6 year warranties. But that's where thes similarities end. The Zion SRT is your more traditional layout: a rear sofa bed that acts as both your lounge and bedroom; a mid-van galley and bathroom and a front lounge for 2 when the rear pedestal table is moved up. The rear lounge is comfortable to travel in with a large bench seat and ottomans for kicking up your legs. There's a sensibly placed TV where everyone can watch and a smallish pedestal table can be set up for dining. All-in-all it's a good lounge. When the sofa is electrically reclined then the lounge converts to a bedroom with either two twin beds or by filling in the center section between the ottomans one larger full sized bed. The bed has the advantage that in its twin configuration each person can get into and out of bed without having to roll over or disturb the other; plus the bed is at a good height so that you don't have to climb up and down into it. Bed comfort is just okay because Roadtrek doesn't use memory foam on the ottomans so you can feel the diffence in softness between the sofa (which does use memory foam) and the ottomans. Because the sofa goes across the width of the rear of the van there's some storage under it but no pass through storage. Moving on to the Aktiv 1.0. Its layout is based on the ever-popular front lounge configuration found in Europe. There's a reason why this configuration is so popular there: It gives you a permanent bed in the back and that's one of the major strengths that the Aktiv has over the Zion SRT. The permanent rear bed means that you don't have to setup and tear down the bed every day. In addition it's more comfortable with a proper mattress and a wooden slate support system underneath. While you will have to crawl over the other person to get into and out of bed, sleeping comfort triumphs. It always does. The second win for the Aktiv is that even with the bed down there's pass through storage from the rear doors. That's because the bed sits up higher. If you're going to have a higher bed at least you're getting a ton of storage below. Storage in the Zion SRT is really tight but in the Aktiv it's not a problem. Finally, while the Aktiv's front lounge setup isn't quite as nice as the Zion SRT's, it's good enough. It seats 4 people comfortably utilizing the two cab seats when swiveled around. And there's a much larger table with an extension that allows everyone to have a place setting. While the TV is in a terrible location above and behind the jump seat, there is an enormous skyight above the lounge letting loads more of the outside in: what's more important watching TV as a family or enjoying your destination? The win goes to the Aktiv 1.0. It does a better job balancing its strengths and weaknesses. It has a much better bed and while it does sit up higher it does so for a great reason: storage which is really lacking on the Zion SRT. It's lounge holds its own against the Zion SRT as do its galley and bathroom. So the permanent rear bed and pass through storage win the day for the Aktiv 1.0. The Zion SRT doesn't need to hold its head in shame. It does a very adequate job and frankly some buyers will find its layout more appealing. 🔴 Recommended playlists: Comparisons    • Pleasure-way Lexor FL vs Winnebago Travato...  Buyer Advice & Guides    • 2018 Winnebago Revel vs. Pleasureway Ascen...  All Camper Van Reviews    • 2018 Pleasure-way Plateau FL Review | A Fr...  Camper Van Questions & Answers    • What is a Mercedes Master Upfitter | Certi...  360 Degree Videos    • (360 Video) 2018 Winnebago Revel vs. Pleas...  Under 21 Feet in Length Vans    • 2018 Roadtrek Zion SRT Review | Class B Ca...  Equipment I Use: ✅Yi 360 VR Camera https://amzn.to/2nivFyD ✅Insta360 One https://amzn.to/2OS4Y0n ✅Handheld audio recorders https://amzn.to/2npQPeB ✅Mavic Air Drone https://amzn.to/2vnUZYM ✅HP ENVY 34-inch All-in-One Computer https://amzn.to/2BNSnJ4
