"Lake Borgne" Specks / Reds

This video was filmed on April 17, 2026. In this episode we are heading out to one of Louisiana epic fishing locations: "Lake Borgne" for those elusive Big Speckled Trout. With the waters warming we were interested in trying a little topwater action. This was going to be a challenge because the winds have been blowing quite hard for the last couple of weeks and these large lake water's are very rough. We saw a small window of opportunity in the predicted early morning light winds, so w not much optimism, but a big desire to get in a little topwater action we headed out. The wind manage to lay down for about 1 hour before we had to change our plan of action. But in this time we mange to land a few nice "Big Girls." Once the wind really started blowing we move locations in Lake Borgne and headed for calmer waters. We managed to land a few more trout and several redfish on jerk and sinner baits.
