2024 Molokai Hoe Canoe Race
Welcome to the Molokai Hoe! Whether you're a local paddler or a visitor from afar, we extend a warm welcome to this year's race. We hope your experience is nothing short of memorable. With deep appreciation, we mark our return to the Kaiwi Channel races after a five-year hiatus, during which we've carefully observed and responded to our community's needs in the wake of COVID and the Lahaina Wildfires. Central to our mission is the cherished relationship we hold with the Host Island of Molokai. Since 1952, we've gathered as an 'ohana wa'a, embracing the heart of our sport here on Molokai. Over the decades, what began as a local tradition has evolved into a global celebration of our culture, with paddlers from around the world looking to Molokai as the sacred starting point and pinnacle race to aspire to participate in. As we embark on this journey, let us remember that we come to Molokai as guests, and it's our privilege to honor the rich heritage and culture of the canoe that Molokai graciously shares with us.
