Let's take a ride to the Tucson airport during a severe thunderstorm with a microburst 05112019

The back story is that my wife had been in California for 2 weeks spending time with her terminally ill mother. My mission was to pick her up from the airport at 7:50 pm. I left about 7:00 pm and headed north on I-19 toward Tucson and the airport. After I had been on the freeway for a few minutes, I could see that it was looking particularly dark and nasty to the north and in the area of the airport, so I decided to record some of the trip. As I approached Tucson, huge tumbleweeds were blowing across the I-19, and I know I hit two of them, there was no chance to avoid them. The video speaks for itself. I know it is long, but watch what you want to. You can see the microburst winds at 9:08 blowing from south to north. If nothing else, take a look at 10:45 for an awesome lightning strike! The follow up story is that my wife's (Jan) flight left Phoenix on time, got to the vicinity of Tucson and decided to turn back to Phoenix due to a severe thunderstorm with an imbedded microburst reported. Jan was texting me with updates, and the short story was the plane landed safely in Phoenix. Everyone had to deplane while the plane was refueled, then after a bit, everyone re-boarded the plane, and eventually it left the gate and departed for Tucson again around 9:45 pm. Her flight landed safely in Tucson at 10:18 pm. We finally got home around 11:30 pm.
