The updated T8 Volvo vehicles have an 18.8 kWh battery (14.9 kWh usable) and more powerful rear electric motor with 145hp and 228 lb ft. of torque. This allows the vehicle to drive without compromise on electric only power for an EPA rated distance of 35 miles. During my test, I was able to handily beat the EPA figures by over 10% and this was at speeds higher than one might actually travel at using battery only.
