Die Heide brennt! Bundeswehr Gefechtsschießen LFX ILÜ Manöver 2018 Panzer Leopard 2

Impressions from two rounds of live-fire exercises during the 2018 Information Training Exercise. Five days separated the two sessions, but the weather couldn't have been more different. While the heath was ablaze everywhere on Thursday due to the drought, the following Tuesday was uncomfortably cold and wet. This time, a very interesting mix of vehicles was on display. Besides the usual vehicles of the German Armed Forces, such as the Leopard 2A7, Marder infantry fighting vehicle, as well as the Puma, Boxer, Biber, NH90, etc., there were also some interesting vehicles from allied nations: The Austrian Armed Forces were represented with the Leopard 2A4 main battle tank and the Ulan infantry fighting vehicle, and the Dutch Armed Forces were present with the CV90 infantry fighting vehicle.
