🐴 Does the German rein really work? This is one of the topics that generates the most questions among riders and trainers. In this video, I'll show how I use the German rein during some exercises and explain why it should only be seen as an auxiliary resource, never as the solution to training problems. When used incorrectly, the German rein can cause the rider to excessively support their hands and hinder the horse's development. However, when used with knowledge, sensitivity, and at the right time, it can contribute to exercises such as neck flexion and improve communication between horse and rider. The most important thing is to understand that the normal rein remains an extension of our hands.
