Sudan has decided to extend the opening of the Adré border crossing with Chad for humanitarian aid delivered by international relief organizations for three months, starting July 1st. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release: "This decision underscores the Sudanese government's commitment and ongoing efforts to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to those affected throughout Sudan and to provide all necessary facilitations." Sudan commended the efforts of the UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan in finalizing the arrangements for the monitoring and oversight mechanism at the Adré crossing, which will contribute to enhancing transparency and ensuring the smooth flow of humanitarian aid to those in need.
