The official ceremony to present boats and equipment to local fishing sector actors was held on Tuesday, December 17, 2025 at the office of the Regional Directorate of Fisheries and the Blue Economy (DRPEB) in Anôsy. The purpose of this presentation of these boats and equipment is to strengthen the skills of fishermen, improve their working conditions, increase fishing yields, promote a sustainable blue economy, and improve the income of coastal residents for the development of the Region, District, and Commune of Fort-Dauphin. The ceremony was held under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Madagascar, Colonel Michäel RANDRIANIRINA, and was attended by the Minister of Fisheries and the Blue Economy, Mr. CHAN KIT WAYE, the Minister of Population and Solidarity, Ms. Sidonie RAHARINIRINA, the Head of Cooperation within the European Union in Madagascar, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, the representative of the Embassy of France, and also technical and financial partners, including the Global Gateway program, the GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) which guarantees the implementation of the project. During this ceremony today, there was an official speech to introduce the project, followed by a photo session and the official presentation of the equipment to the beneficiaries, which represents the solidarity and international cooperation for the sustainable development of the Anôsy Region.
