Montana Of 300 Explains Why He Didn't Rap on Fox's "Empire"

http://www.vladtv.com - Fans of Montana Of 300 may have been utterly floored to see the Chicago rapper make his acting debut on FOX's Empire with Chris Rock, Petey Pablo and others. During this exclusive clip, Montana details how that came to be and why he wasn't able to show off his skills on the show. The independent artist was cast on Empire as a rapping felon after auditioning for director Lee Daniels himself. In one scene we saw Montana rapping along with Terrence Howard, but when asked why he didn't perform a song solo, he tells us he wasn't able to do one of his own. "They had Petey Pablo writing music on there, and I would rather rap my own music because I have my own fanbase going right now for myself," Montana explains. "As far as reciting somebody else's lyrics, I'm not into that." Montana Of 300 also tells DJ Vlad how Chris Rock was able to get him in contact with famed producer Rick Rubin, which resulted in him working in the studio with Rick "for over ten hours straight."
