Russian Training Sports Massage, Upper Back & Shoulder, Part 2
Link: https://russiansportsmassage.com This instructional video is based on the science of sports massage. It offers an example of Training Sports Massage for the upper back and shoulder area, with a client in the supine position (Part 2). This video offers some highlights from my "tune-up" session with the former professional boxer and the World Champion, the "Fabulous" Frankie Liles. The main goal of that session was to address hypertonus in his shoulder girdle muscles. Please, keep in mind that this is Part 2 of that session, with the client in the supine position.(Part 1 covered some of the techniques with the client in the prone position.) In order to effectively address the shoulder girdle muscles, it helps to keep in mind the tug-of-war between the Anterior and the Posterior group of the skeletal muscles of the shoulder joint as well as the shoulder girdle muscles, where the Rotator Cuffs are "loosing" to the Pecs muscles, as an example. This, in turn, compromises normal functioning of the Rhomboids and the Traps. Following this line of thought, start with the mid-back, then continue to the upper back and neck, followed by the shoulder area. Emphasize the control of the soft tissue you are working on. Gradually increase the pressure, but without eliciting any painful sensation. To learn more about the science of sports massage, please go to: WEBSITE: https://russiansportsmassage.com/
