Why I collect LaserDisc Or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Format
This is a simple rambling video where I try to explain why I collect these big magical 12" shiny discs and provide some general explanations of the format's strengths. Thus hopefully others can get a better understanding of what I'm talking about when I have to frequently explain my love for the format. I also mention the real reason that got me hooked on collecting which is the continual lack or research on the part of studios in terms of not providing modern releases with the same quality as previous ones, or performing far too much digital cleanup-particularly in the audio department where most modern releases are either overly noise reduced or completely remixed for nearfield listening environments.
