2025 Leapmotor T03 – Daily Driving a Budget EV
Premium Faraday key pouch to protect your car key from relay theft: https://mobilityinsider.myshopify.com/ Welcome back to mobility insider. This is the Leap Motor T03, it is small, relatively light, inexpensive and fully electric! Over the last 10 years, the small, cheap cars have gradually disappeared from dealer showrooms. The Chinese manufacturer, Leap Motor, now brings us the T03, and it is one of Europe’s least expensive new cars. It has a no-nonsense design and offers great value for money. The T03 feels solid and it is not underpowered. It has a 37.3 kWh LFP battery, promising a WLTP-range of 265 kilometers. It’s equipped with a single electric motor up front that produces 95 horsepower and 158 Nm of torque. This gets you from 0-60 km/h in 4.73 sec. and 0-100 km/h takes about 11.2 sec. according to our test. In terms of size; think Toyota Aygo, Fiat 500 or VW Up! The T03 measures 362 cm in the length and 165 cm in the width, so parking it is very easy. The charging speed is up to 45 kW giving a charging time from 10-80% in about 55 mins. The T03 works best if you can charge at home over night or if you can charge at work during the day – it is not really a road tripper but the occasional 200-km trip is ok. Over the week of testing I actually did 500 km and I got to like this small car. The T03 is fully equipped, incl. 15” alloy rims and a glass roof, and 6 airbags, plus most of the driver assist systems we know from more expensive cars. The driver assist systems are a bit annoying and keeps warning you – I am sure Leap Motor will improve the useability via over-the-air updates. Inside, the T03 offers excellent headroom but the rear legroom is limited, of course. You get two ISO-Fix mounts and power windows front and rear, and this 42” glass roof. The trunk provides about 210 liters of space, which is ample for daily errands. Leap Motor T03 is an interesting, small offering. Fully electric, cheap to run and to buy, it is a great daily runner for people travelling short distances or just need a car now and then, maybe as supplement to an ebike. Leap Motor T03 is a great alternative to a used small car. It offers practicality, up to date safety technology, and nice comfort for urban commuting, including air conditioning.
