Second Day of the Biblical Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, an opportunity to continue walking with Mary and discover how God works wonders in those who fully believe in His Word. We meditate on the beautiful encounter between the Virgin Mary and Saint Elizabeth, recounted in the Gospel according to Saint Luke. Upon receiving the angel's announcement, Mary does not think of herself; she goes promptly to serve, console, and accompany her cousin Elizabeth. There, one of the most moving encounters in Sacred Scripture takes place: the child John the Baptist leaps for joy in Elizabeth's womb upon recognizing the presence of the Savior. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Elizabeth proclaims: "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!" while Mary responds with the magnificent song of the Magnificat, praising the greatness of God and acknowledging that He works wonders in the humble. Authentic faith always translates into service, charity, and dedication to others. Our Lady of Mount Carmel continues to invite us to bring Christ to wherever there is sadness, illness, loneliness, or need. As a spiritual practice for this day, the novena invites us to visit someone who is sick or offer help to someone in need, making God's merciful love present through concrete acts of solidarity. 🙏 May Our Lady of Mount Carmel also visit our homes, strengthen our families, and teach us to live with generous hearts, always ready to serve.
