Vintage clothes fans will sure love this pattern. Sew Over It Penny Dress features button front, full flare skirt and shoulder panel that eliminates the need of bust dart. I think gathering at shoulder seam is a nice alternative way of accommodating 3D shape of bust. It's more flowy and even more feminine than a bust dart, and many Sew Over It patterns make full use of it ;) If you are using rather heavier weight or drapey fabric including even rayon, it's a good idea to hang the dress overnight before hemming and level out in case the skirt has stretched. This is always recommended for hemming skirts that were cut in bias.
