Maureen Evans - Searching For Home (1968)
Welsh singer who recorded from the late 50's throughout the 60's. Maureen's biggest hit was 1962's "Like I Do". Although a lot of her material were covers or songs not written specifically for her, "Searching For Home" was penned by her brother Gomer Edwin Evans. Originally released as the b-side to the single "I Almost Called Your Name", this track has to be my favorite of hers. Just listen to that intro and each time it appears in the song. Reminds me of "Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying" by Gerry & The Pacemakers. A wonderfully wistful albeit slightly melancholic feel that is mesmerizing to my ears each time I hear it.
