Cirque de Navacelles, Balcony Road D713/D130, Hérault, Occitanie, France - by motorcycle and drone

The Cirque de Navacelles is located on the border of the departments of Herault and Gard in the Occitanie region. Clearly visible is the name-giving former course of the river Vis and the circulating mountain, on the northern side of which is the small village of Navacelles. Coming from the north (Gard department), the D713 road leads from the village of Blandas, first over a few hairpin bends, then in a large loop into the valley floor. Then, one kilometer before Navacelles, the D130 road (Herault department) branches off to go uphill on the south side of the gorge. At La Baume Auriol you have reached the southern edge of the gorge; the road continues to Saint-Maurice-Navacelles. About 9.5 km have to be covered on this road to cross the gorge. With due care, the road is easy to follow. At the southern edge, the road becomes a little narrower and care must be taken for oncoming traffic.
