Old replay from 2015. Turn on subtitles for some extra comments. Quick and dirty no-miss of the game's Original mode. The game has three difficulties, Original, Maniac and Ultra. Original and Maniac are more the normal difficulties of the game. These two are about equal in difficulty, but they are very different in style. Original has sparse bullets, but they are very fast. Whereas Maniac is more dense, but has slow bullets. Which one is harder is more or less depending on your skillset. If you're used to bullet hell, then Maniac will probably be easier for you than Original. Ultra is by far the hardest of the three difficulties. For Original, S-Type is easily the best for survival and scoring. The fast speed makes you able to easily dodge the fast bullets and you can do very strong damage from a distance. For absolute WR tier scores you'd need W-Type though, because you need the extra tick points the shot gives you. Every shot has a different type of super shot to do more damage. For S-Type this is hold full auto and TRIGGER:3 INTERVAL:2 on shot. The scoring system of Original is one of the most straight-forward scoring systems Cave has ever made. So much in that there is basically no scoring system at all. The remaining extra lives bonus at the end of the game is worth 80% of your score. The remaining score is killing as many enemies as possible, getting as many gems as possible and tick points. There are a couple of extra tricks here and there though, mostly in stage 2. The bushes in stage 2 bleed gems if you stay on top of them and shoot them with full auto options. You can speedkill the stage 2 and 5 midbosses with a bomb to spawn extra enemies. You get a nice score bonus for not destroying the legs of the stage 2 boss. In stage 3 you can leave most of the main body alive and milk the respawning popcorn throughout the stage. This is probably the most risky thing you can do in this mode (I don't do it this run). You can use W-Type to milk more tickpoints in exchange for making survival harder.
