Please note that this is non-contact audio, so be mindful of volume levels. This compiles the departure melodies used on Shinkansen station platforms within the JR East network. (As of November 1, 2025) While locally themed departure melodies had been introduced for some time, 2025 saw the implementation of standard direction-specific melodies across each line, dramatically increasing the number of stations using departure melodies. Additionally, a departure melody resulting from the first-ever tie-up project for the Shinkansen was introduced, but its use ended after only 9 days. Videos of Shinkansen departure melodies nationwide still lack recordings for the newly changed melodies at Shin-Yatsushiro, Kagoshima-Chuo, Niigata, Omiya, Utsunomiya, and Nasushiobara stations. These will be released as soon as they are recorded.
