Slow walk in the beautiful old town centre of Edam. The old town centre, which I found to be quite big for a town this size, is nowadays protected by the government and most buildings are in good condition. There are 176 buildings registered as important cultural heritage. Edam is famous as the original source of the cheese with the same name. The cheese market was the primary resource of the economy of Edam in the 16th century and is still held today.
