You are watching the Veselyi Inzhener channel. Today we won't be looking at thread cutting, although threads are very common in manufacturing. In previous videos, we looked at a tool called a thread rolling tool. Without further ado, today's video is about thread rolling. If you know what thread rolling is and how to do it, you can skip it. Threads are formed and produced in different ways. All thread formation methods are quite diverse and use different tools. Pressure forming, on the other hand, is a very fast process. Pressure forming of metals is characterized by the absence of chips. It's worth mentioning that we'll definitely cover the different types of pressure forming. When I studied various pressure forming processes in technical school, I wasn't particularly interested. This method produces a technological surface called an external thread. However, if you don't know the thread size, the thread rolling method isn't suitable for you. Many people look for the thread diameter, but it can easily be found in tables. After all, the size of the external thread you choose will determine the type of connection you'll end up with. The most popular is the external metric thread, which is used in almost all mechanisms. If you want to do this in your garage, then turning a thread roll will help you. This tool is the starting point for rolling threaded surfaces on parts yourself. It's worth noting that thread rolling, producing the diameters you achieve on surfaces, is done very quickly. In my video, I show a drawing of a thread rolling tool. Our companies roll shafts and axles.
