Entre Rios: "Vida Isleña" Part.2 COSTAS del ESPINILLO.

El Espinillo Island, located in the Paraná River delta, is part of the Victoria Department in the province of Entre Ríos, Argentina. This island territory, approximately 246 hectares in area, is characterized by its biodiversity and historical and social importance. In 2000, the island was declared a Protected Landscape under the category of "Protected Area with Managed Resources," with the goal of conserving its native fauna and flora, especially the Paraná gallery forest associated with lotic systems. Furthermore, the island is home to approximately 20 families dedicated primarily to artisanal fishing, who reside in homes built on stilts to protect themselves from frequent flooding. In short, El Espinillo Island is a natural space of great ecological and cultural value, which faces challenges related to environmental conservation, education, and the resolution of interprovincial conflicts. Its history and current situation reflect the complexities of life on the islands of the Paraná Delta and the need for public policies that promote sustainable development and the protection of its inhabitants.
