Luisa Splett plays Franz Liszt: Les cloches de Genève
Franz Liszt (1811--1886) aus Années de Pèlerinage, La Suisse: Les cloches de Genève Luisa Sereina Splett was born on the 20th of September 1983 in Winterthur, Switzerland. She began playing the piano by imitating children's songs and at the age of five, began formal lessons with Sylvia Näsbom-Thellung. From the beginning, Luisa Splett played in public with great pleasure, as a soloist and chamber musician. With her piano-trio "Da Capo", which was guided by her father, she played in the Jecklin Festival of 1997 in the large hall of the Tonhalle in Zürich. In November of 2009 she performed her graduation concert at the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in Saint Petersburg, receiving an "excellent" mark. Beside her still increasing concert activity, Luisa Splett is writing her dissertation work, which is focused on the Swiss pianist and composer Emil Frey and his creative efforts in Russia during the early part of the 20th century. "I sincerely enjoy spending my life with what might seem just 88 keys to others. I feel great working out little details for hours and hours, over and over again, until my music gets alive. That's when playing the piano simply seems to be the best thing I've ever done. I want to pass on this joy of music to as many people as I can." Looking for the perfect sound From my earliest childhood music fills my life. What began as a game became my vocation -- music is my life and my life full of music. On my way looking for the perfect sound my path leaded me to different cultures. Recorded live at the Tonhalle Zurich, in September 2010.
