Exploring The Blue Eye & Hidden Beaches 🌊 | Day 7 Backpacking Albania 🇦🇱

It’s Day 7 backpacking through Albania, and today was full of adventure, history, and a few driving struggles 😂🇦🇱 We started the day in Gjirokastër, heading to the beautiful and historic Skënduli House — one of the city’s best-preserved Ottoman-style homes. Built in the 18th century, it’s packed with tradition and family history. The house has 64 windows, 40 doors, and 9 fireplaces, showing how wealthy families once lived. It’s been owned by the same family for generations, and visiting it truly feels like stepping back in time 🏛️🕰️ Before we got there though… I took a wrong turn and ended up reversing uphill for what felt like forever! 😅 Luckily, a kind local came to the rescue and reversed it for me — Albanian hospitality really is something special 🙌 Next stop — the incredible Blue Eye (Syri i Kaltër) 💙 This natural spring is one of Albania’s most famous attractions, known for its unbelievably deep blue water that looks almost unreal! You can’t swim there anymore to protect the site, but it’s still breathtaking to see — and the drone footage was next-level 🌊📸 After that, we made our way to Aquarium Beach, a hidden spot surrounded by cliffs and turquoise water. The drive down was rough, so we decided to park and walk — and halfway there, we found a stunning bar with insane views 😍🍹 The beach was beautiful but definitely busy, so go early if you want a quieter experience!
