A dark and dusty day plasma cutting redundant beams in a barn renovation

Today we headed up to a Barn conversion to remove some old redundant steel beams. These were previously part of a winch and hoist system used to bring stone into the building when it was used as an art studio. We were originally going to cut them up with a 9 inch cut off wheel but thankfully the day before starting the job I had a brain wave and converted our spare air compressor to run with the generator and plasma cutter. Don’t get me wrong it was still an dark and crappy day but it was made a lot easier with the plasma. So pleased we had our new ‪@metabouk6489‬ 4000 lumen work site magnetic light with us. I will definitely be adding more of these great lights to the site box. Everything was more than adequately propped and supported during removal using a selection of acro props and with the help of ‪@PIHERCLAMPS‬ maxi press R-50 clamps and maxi props. We had 1 man on fire watch and 2 fire extinguishers ready at all times and stayed 2 hours after all hot works finished to do fire checks. Not my usual work but Tom, Roger and myself got it done for the customer.
