4s vs Wilnecote 1s… Bowled Both Openers & Loved the Needle

A proper 4s away day at Wilnecote — up against their 1st XI, who are sitting 2nd in the table. On paper they were stronger, but once we got into it, the game had way more edge and energy than the scorecard shows. They had four or five quality players who made the difference, Their opened scored a ton at better than a run-a- ball, fair play — he struck it well and changed the momentum early. But despite the result, there were plenty of positives for me personally: I bowled both openers, kept things tight, and loved every minute of the banter and needle out in the field. It's exactly the kind of game I've been wanting to get involved in. Proper club cricket atmosphere. In the end, Wilnecote deserved the win — they were the better side on the day — but it was one of those matches where you walk off thinking: we weren’t far away from making it interesting, had we done things differently, I genuinely think the outcome may have been different.
