74. I Return to roots I Freedom Sailing

In this episode I get our new (to us) wee Noelex 25 trailer yacht ready to take to Lake Rotoiti in the Bay of Plenty in New Zealand. Building some cabinets, painting and lining the hull. Nina & I make a beautiful Christmas cordial from the native New Zealand Christmas tree the Pohutukawa. Recipe: 100gm Pohutukawa stamens/1litre bottle 150gm sugar 1/3 tspn citric acid Steep stamens in 1 litre of boling water overnight & bottle the next day! Best with bubbly & gin! I install a 200w solar panel with a MPPT Victron solar controller into two 100Ah deep cycle AMG batteries. This allows us to run a fridge freezer and lighting, charging etc even on overcast periods. On a sunny day we even run a portable ice maker! Having a wonderful two week spell of warm weather we get to return to the lake where all our adventures began. Lake Rotoiti.
