CONOCIENDO A VENEZUELA “Estado Bolívar”

Bolívar State is one of the 23 states that, along with the Capital District and the Federal Dependencies, make up the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Its capital is Ciudad Bolívar, and its most populous city is Ciudad Guayana. It is located in the southeast of the country, in the Guayana region, bordering Guárico, Anzoátegui, Monagas, and Delta Amacuro to the north; Guyana Esequiba (currently under dispute) to the east; Brazil to the south, along the Orinoco-Amazon watershed; Amazonas to the southwest; and Apure to the west. With an area of ​​240,528 km², it is the largest state. In 2018, it had 2,069,064 inhabitants, making it the sixth most populous—after Zulia, Miranda, Carabobo, Lara, and Aragua—and with a population density of 5.8 inhabitants/km², the fourth least densely populated, ahead of Apure, Delta Amacuro, and Amazonas, the least densely populated. Its territory is located almost entirely on the Guiana Shield. It has 11 autonomous municipalities and 47 civil parishes. Its main cities are Ciudad Bolívar, Ciudad Guayana, Upata, and Caicara del Orinoco. The Ministry of Popular Power for Education (MPPE) of Venezuela, through the General Directorate of Learning Resources, together with the Educational Audiovisual and School Libraries departments, is sharing experiences from each of the Learning Resource Centers, School Libraries, and educational institutions. This involves the participation of students, teachers, librarians, and representatives from alternative and community media.
