This transmission is called a DPO, DP0, or AL4 transmission from the manufacturer PSA Group. A road test is performed to observe the transmission's operation. It is also in protection mode, safety mode, service mode, or limp mode, due to the transmission oil pressure sensor. Two sensors of the same brand are tested. These are imitations (piracy), and do not meet the manufacturer's values, making them unusable. Resistance and voltage tests are performed, using information from the workshop manual. For the tests, a Renault Can Clip dealer scanner, multimeter, oscilloscope, and pressure gauges graduated in bars are used. A diagnosis was made of the communication network (CAN network communication protocol), measuring various values. It was observed that it presented communication failures and that several car modules were damaged (shorted computers), including the transmission computer (TCM). The charging system and battery are tested using the Midtronics EXP-1000HD equipment, due to the fact that the modules have short circuits and this could be due to problems with the alternator. The oil pressure sensor fault codes are generally DF005 Oil pressure sensor circuit and DF049 Pressure regulation. The oil pressure test is performed with the pressure gauge connected to the transmission and the values ​​are observed and compared with the data read on the scanner and compared with information in the manual. This confirms that the sensor is not working. Using the curve tracer, an original sensor is compared with generic sensors and it is observed that they are not electronically identical. It is shown how the sensor can be tested outside the car, supplying it with 5 volts of direct current and air pressure. A diagnosis is made for the 17G or DF017 Oil Cooling Valve (Exchanger Flow Solenoid Valve Circuit) fault code, and the computer output is diagnosed as damaged or burned out. This valve is also called the "Exchange Flow Control Solenoid Valve" or "Oil Cooling Valve" or "Exchanger Flow Sensor Solenoid Valve" in the diagnostic chart. Its function is to cool the oil.
