Strategic Community Outreach to Increase Enrollment & Reduce dropouts of Rural Students

"Every child belongs in school, and true educational transformation begins when the classroom connects deeply with the community." In this video, Dr. Shail Pragya (PGT Zoology) documents a comprehensive, collaborative door-to-door community mobilization and counseling campaign designed to eliminate school dropouts and boost gross student enrollment in rural attachment zones. Guided by the core vision of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), this grassroot initiative was executed under joint leadership with the School Administration, including the School Principal and senior faculty members. By visiting the homes of irregular and out-of-school children, we engaged in empathetic, direct dialogue with parents and guardians to identify the underlying socio-economic and structural reasons behind student absenteeism. Key highlights of this outreach program include: Conducting one-on-one family counseling to break educational barriers. Spreading awareness regarding government welfare schemes, textbooks, and institutional scholarships. Identifying grassroot challenges to coordinate effectively with local municipal and panchayat authorities for student welfare and safe transit routes. Strengthening the School-Community partnership to ensure accountability and long-term retention.
