1972 Astro Spiral Jump

In this segment from the old Car & Track show, host Bud Lindemann takes a behind the scenes look at the "Astro Spiral Jump" designed by Cornell Aeronautical Laboratory and performed by the American Thrill Show. The stunt was first performed in public on January 14th 1972 in the Houston Astrodome. The stunt was then taken on the road as part of a travelling thrill show for years afterward.
