Half Marathon, Oxford, October 13th 2024

Today, starting at 9:30am, is the Half Marathon, https://www.oxfordhalf.com/ . The route, detailed on the website, starts in the city centre and eventually goes west along Norham Road and up Banbury Road through Summertown. It then reverses to return through Summertown in the other direction, and turns where Banbury Road joins Marston Ferry Road. It then goes to Old Marston, around a bit, back up Marston Ferry Road, and down Banbury Road into the city centre. I walk up Winchester Road and along North Parade, and then watch the Norham Road/Banbury Road turn, seeing the first runner (and quite a few more) come through. I then walk up Woodstock Road to Summertown (mostly not on film), and then watch runners going up and down Banbury Road, and then finish by watching at Marston Ferry Road/Banbury Road. There is an excellent brass music accompaniment in Summertown. It's a good running route, at least if you don't mind being on main roads, and viewers new to Oxford might like to try it.
