Medieval Guilds - The Apprenticeship

This episode of rise of the middle class we cover the medieval apprenticeship system and how the medieval apprentice system is vastly different to the modern apprenticeship system. This however was the foundation of the tradesman apprentice system we still see today in the modern era, it was pivotal in teaching the unskilled in the ways of the craft and business acumen. Medieval guilds relied on the apprenticeship to ensure new members entering into the guild were of sufficient skill to maintain the high levels of workman ship that was required of it's members.
