Easiest way to go from Enlisted to Officer USAF 2026
Easiest way to go from enlisted to officer USAF This video I got asked what is the best way to commission, I can’t say what is best all have their advantages, but this is the easiest way A YOUNG AIRMAN can go from enlisted to officer and subscribe if you want more videos like this. So You are enlisted A1C or SrA Why let’s talk about the elephant in the room. Look at the PAY charts enlisted vs officer. I am not saying this is or should be the motivation but let’s be frank there is a difference when you look at the difference in pay between Paycheck E-1 vs O1 E2 O2 04 shocked at paycheck. UP to O3 is almost guaranteed (like a 95% selection rate) Also, you will have More responsibility More freedom to get job done as a new let I was talking with a General in Canada about an operation in Africa and I was the technical expert for an operation you are not doing that as a new AMN More authority but with more authority you mess up it is your fault Textbook reason is Commissioning in the military you have a quick route to lead, rather than enlisting, offers several compelling reasons, including greater career opportunities, a broader scope of leadership roles, and potential for higher pay and advancement. It's a path that attracts those seeking management, strategic thinking, and a higher level of responsibility within the military structure. So today what is that commissioning source I am talking about Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps or AFROTC I recommend Take college courses, while active duty ROTC can be done If you get SRA below the zone great, but not necessary you just pinned on 6 months early (I did but it was competitive) I have seen several join ROTC after service or Separate after years 4-6 years palace chase go in to reserves Going to college GI bill making more money in college than as an SRA some collect unemployment Many have 50-60 credits They do not have a 2-year option now to commission it used to be Must do 3 or 4 years now Enough credits to become a sophomore Competition wise, average airman have a leg up on non-prior service, they have a level of maturity they sometimes are more responsible and you must do PT and PT might be rigorous you must be ready for intensive PT depending on your ROTC detachment Pick a university you want to go to, just sign up Get selected and go through field training and you are almost guaranteed an officer slot as long as you don’t get a DUI, have a GPA that drops below a 2.5 but you still need to do better than the other cadets and you can become a pilot or line officer such as.comm or FSS ect If you have taken enough classes to be half way through can do 1 year of grad school in the regulation in case you are already done with 2 years as an undergrad and 1 year in grad school then go into AD, I have seen cadets do that. This is not super well used. As I mentioned in my OTS video that is another option but you need to be very competitive. As always please ask any questions you may have and I will gladly answer them.
