Opening Day starters Kevin Appier for Kansas City and Mike Mussina gets the call for Baltimore in from of a sold out Camden Yards. a great pitching match up as both pitchers only give up a couple hits midway through the game as Mike Devereaux puts the Orioles on the board first hitting his 1st HR of 1994 in the bottom of the 1st. Royals tie the game in the top of the 4th on a HR from catcher Mike Macfarlane. Orioles answer back with a run in the bottom of the 4th and another in the 5th as Mike Mussina keeps the Royals scoreless only giving up two hits early on and hitless from the 5th-8th innings.
