Could a boat made from plastic really be the future of inland boating? While visiting Crick Boat Show 2026, we took a closer look at Karenza, an innovative narrowboat built from HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) rather than traditional steel. First, creator Shaun shows us around the bare shell and explains how the boat is constructed, before Paula from Bespoke Boats gives us a tour of the fully fitted-out finished boat. With no rust, no blacking and a very different approach to boat building, HDPE boats are certainly getting people talking.
