Where did the idea for this experiment come from? I grow my own TOMATO SEEDLINGS on the balcony of my apartment building, but the lack of space on the balcony limits me to arranging a space where I can put a maximum of 6-7 tomato seedling trays, which means approximately 100 to 120 tomato plants. And since I grow EXOTIC TOMATO VARIETIES and ROMANIAN TOMATO VARIETIES that are not very productive, even if I have many plants, the total amount of tomatoes per season is not significant. As an idea, a plant that I grow produces much less than certain categories of TOMATO HYBRIDS that are extremely productive. If a TOMATO HYBRID produces 10 kg./plant, a TOMATO of mine does not produce more than 3-5 kg./plant. So I got this idea, to try to double my TOMATO PRODUCTION from the same number of plants. When did I start this experiment? In May of this year, when the TOMATO SEEDLINGS were already planted in the GARDEN, and the plants began to develop and create new shoots, new tomato babies. What does this experiment consist of? From the main shoot or stem of the tomato I left a child to develop in parallel with the plant, and at this moment, when the plant has reached maturity and the fruits begin to ripen, the secondary stem resulting from the growth of that child is almost as vigorous as the main stem. And that means that the secondary stem grew about as many tomatoes as the main stem. So, I managed to double my tomato production this season from the same number of plants. SPRAYING TO TOMATOES For those of you who haven't watched the previous videos and are wondering what the bluish marks on the plants and fruits are, find out that I sprayed the tomatoes with BORDEAUX JUICE. I also made a video of the spraying, so I recommend you watch that video. TOMATO VARIETIES What tomato varieties do I grow in my garden this year? Some are EXOTIC TOMATO VARIETIES, and others are ROMANIAN TOMATO VARIETIES. When all the tomatoes are ripe, I will make a video in which I will tell you which varieties I grow and the advantages + disadvantages of each variety. TOMATO THINKING Following this experiment, we came to the conclusion that plants need to be thinned out in order to develop properly, and the maximum number of shoots/plant would be three, so that the plant's production, tomato quality, and size are not affected.
