BODEGA NORTON, HISTORIA Y PRESENTE DE UNA BODEGA ICONO DE ARGENTINA

Bodega Norton was the first winery built south of the Mendoza River, and over the years it has become an icon of Argentine winemaking. With more than 125 years of experience, Bodega Norton—a leader in the Argentine and export markets—is recognized as a cutting-edge, world-class winery for its high-end wines and sparkling wines. Founded in 1895 by the English engineer Edmund J. P. Norton, who introduced the first vines imported from France, it was the first winery south of the Mendoza River, in Luján de Cuyo. In 1989, the Austrian businessman Gernot Langes-Swarovski traveled to Mendoza and experienced the same fascination with the region's beauty, the warmth of its people, and the exceptional conditions for grape cultivation. Guided by intuition and a firm belief in the high potential of Argentine winemaking, he acquired the winery with the firm intention of producing wines that would be recognized worldwide for their quality. Since 1991, it has been managed by his son, Michael Halstrick, with a true family spirit and entrepreneurial drive. The winemaking team is led by David Bonomi, recognized as one of the top 10 winemakers in South America by the British magazine Decanter. Located at the foot of the Andes Mountains in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, it boasts five of its own vineyards situated in this privileged area. Their wines, awarded both locally and internationally, are available in more than 60 countries worldwide under the brands Gernot Langes, Lote Negro, Lote Malbec Single Vineyard, Privada Family Blend, Quorum, Reserva, Norton Malbec D.O.C., Barrel Select, King Malbec, Elegido, Cosecha Tardía, Norton Colección 1895, and Clásico 1895; as well as their sparkling wines Norton and Cosecha Especial. www.norton.com.ar
