A Longhaulpilots Work. Flight Mode, Airbus A330.

Some people find it controversial that we take power naps during cruise. But it‘s really not, because we want to be sharp for the (takeoff, climbout), approach and landing. That‘s when the workload is higher. I think it‘s a clever way to enhance flight safety and that‘s in my own interest. Safety should always be number 1 priority and to me, it is. I‘m pragmatic. We have of course procedures to assure that only one pilot relax at the time and it‘s perfectly according to rules and regulations of course. One picture one my Instagram "bjornpilot" got enormous attention with over 240k views. It was showing me taking a nap in the A350.
