Sara - film Fundacji Atut o XIX wiecznym wielokulturowym Trzemesznie

Trzemeszno, second half of the 19th century. Sara is 13 years old when she and her family move from Głańcza to Trzemeszno. Meyer Harwitz, her father, takes a teaching position at a Jewish school. Sara feels like an outsider in the new town until she meets Ida, the daughter of a high school professor, a Pole. A friendship is born between the girls, which is not accepted by those around them. How will their lives be affected by a major fire in the city that burns down some of the houses and a synagogue? Will Ida and Sara manage to overcome the wall dividing their worlds? The “Sara, a film” Project Sara is a film based on Jolanta Sroczynska-Pietz’s novel Shadow of the Sundial that will feature appearances by the young performers of the Seventh Day Theater in Trzemeszno. The filming was done in Trzemeszno’s historic locations and in a 19th century classroom. The film with English subtitles, will be posted on YouTube, Facebook, and www.zydzi-trzemeszno.pl, as well as sent directly to descendants of Jewish families from Trzemeszno.
