Can a New Sax Neck Beat the Mark VI?

The Boston Sax Shop Heritage tenor saxophone neck, tested against the original neck on my 1967 Selmer Mark VI. Filmed outdoors in the Norwegian mountains. I've been playing the Heritage neck for a couple of weeks now. Are you able to tell a difference between the Heritage neck and the vintage Mark VI neck in this video? And if you are, what differences do you hear? Jack Tyler at the Boston Sax Shop sent me the Heritage neck for free, and they also sponsor the reeds and other gear I play. They did not ask me to make this video and had no input on it. This is my honest take. ____________________________________________ 00:00 A Gear Review In The Norwegian Mountains 00:38 Full Disclosure 01:02 Two Weeks On The Heritage Neck 02:08 The Claims: Angle, Resistance And Register Evenness 02:38 Does Gear Actually Matter? 03:26 Playing The Heritage Neck 04:17 Altissimo 05:02 My Verdict 05:48 Overtones And My Patreon Course 06:08 Hear Both Necks Side By Side ____________________________________________ GEAR MENTIONED My setup: 🎷 1967 Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone 🎷 Boston Sax Shop Heritage tenor saxophone neck 🎷 Original 1967 Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone neck 🎷 JodyJazz DV Tenor 8* mouthpiece 🎷 Boston Sax Shop Black Label 3 reeds 🎷 Boston Sax Shop Cloud Strap neck strap 🎷 DPA 4060 microphone ____________________________________________ I'm Magnus Bakken, a Norwegian jazz saxophonist based outside of Oslo.
